Hidden Landscapes_Grassland Art Festival

This project aims to open the doors of the Department of Fine Arts through the planning and implementation of diverse artistic exhibitions and performances, inviting students to explore multiple forms of artistic creation.

It not only brings art into the campus but also extends beyond it, breaking through the boundaries of the Fine Arts building. The project encourages students to actively participate in various cultural and artistic activities, thereby cultivating their appreciation of art and forming habits of engagement, ultimately enhancing their aesthetic literacy.

Through creative reproduction using diverse media, the project fully showcases the artistic energy of the department and promotes social and cultural exchange. It aspires to create a vibrant cultural event in which the power of art can permeate and influence a broader audience.

Project Description: “ Hidden Landscapes ”

Grasslands may appear open, flat, and unobstructed, yet they carry a vast accumulation of overlooked histories, memories, and relational structures. “Hidden Landscapes” takes the lawn as its curatorial site, focusing on those latent landscapes that lie beneath the surface and within everyday life, continuously shaping the relationship between humans and their environment.

This exhibition does not treat the landscape as a mere natural backdrop; instead, it understands it as a constantly shifting composite field where ecological systems, human interventions, and perceptual experiences intertwine. Artistic works act as interventions within the landscape, revealing spatial orders that are often taken for granted, and prompting viewers to re-examine the temporality and layered narratives embedded in the ground beneath their feet.

“Hidden” does not imply disappearance, but rather a concealed presence. The curatorial focus is on layers that are not immediately perceptible—memories flattened by urban planning, fading bodily experiences, and the ongoing yet often unseen relationships between humans and the environment.
