SUP LAB Process Archive:Invited Parallel Programme
NOFORMULA at SUP LAB:4th Floor is an invited parallel programme within SUP LAB, taking place alongside Activation: Micro-Language Models of Art at MiART Space. As NOFORMULA also participates in the Activation exhibition context, its presence at SUP LAB opens another site for process, shared time, collective decision-making, and spatial response.

NOFORMULA at SUP LAB:4th Floor 是 SUP LAB 邀請進駐的平行計畫,與 MiART Space 的《Activation: Micro-Language Models of Art》同期發生。
SUP LAB invited NOFORMULA to enter the space through a workshop developed by NOFORMULA in response to the conditions and spirit of SUP LAB. Rather than preparing for a fixed exhibition outcome, the workshop became a starting point for process, exchange, and collective experimentation. It opened a shared condition for participation, collective decision-making, and site-responsive practice.

Workshop as Entry Point
NOFORMULA Working On Site
Before any fixed exhibition form emerged, the participants began by working directly with the site. Together, they cleaned, arranged, tested, adjusted, and gradually shaped the space from the ground up. This process brought practical tasks, creative decisions, and collective negotiation into the same working condition.
Rather than treating installation as a final technical step, the on-site process became part of the project itself. The participants responded to the existing conditions of SUP LAB:4th Floor, negotiating how works, bodies, materials, and movement could share the space. Through this process, collaboration was not only discussed, but practised through hands-on decisions and shared responsibility.

The Process
1. Presentation Group
2. Discussion
3. Proposal negotiation Collective
4. Decision-making
The Site Response
SUP LAB:4th Floor is not a fixed exhibition venue, but a structured open platform situated between artistic production and curatorial research. It is not defined by what it presents, but by how things are allowed to happen, enabling creative processes, relationship-building, and the rethinking of exhibition mechanisms to unfold on site.
When NOFORMULA entered this space, the aim was not to adapt the site to fit a fixed exhibition plan, but to respond to the conditions already present. Works, bodies, materials, and movement were negotiated in relation to the site, allowing the space itself to become part of the process.
Here, site response is not only a spatial decision, but a way of working: observing, adjusting, and discussing as the project gradually takes shape through the conditions of the space.

SUP LAB:4th Floor

Within an ongoing practice-led framework, NOFORMULA 4th Edition (NOFORMU4A: TOGETHER) continues its established mode of operation, working without a predefined curatorial theme. Instead, it sets conditions through which participants learn and develop through process and experience. Framed by the subtitle “together”, the exhibition does not focus on gathering with a fixed objective, but on relationships that gradually emerge through shared time and space — a form of being together shaped by proximity and exchange.
In this edition, curation itself is approached as a collective action. Eighteen participants engaged in a workshop-based process, contributing to exhibition planning through stages of presentation, group discussion, spatial organisation, and proposal negotiation. Through collective decision-making, the overall structure of the exhibition was formed. Within this framework, works are not arranged through a singular curatorial perspective, but are continuously adjusted across multiple viewpoints, allowing the exhibition to extend beyond a final outcome into a process of decision-making and relational development.

The exhibition takes place at SUP LAB, a space defined by its domestic scale and existing architectural conditions. Its layout, including balconies and semi-open circulation, shifts the exhibition away from the controlled environment of a white cube towards a site that requires response and negotiation. This spatial condition directly informs how works are positioned and understood, situating “together” not only as a method, but as an ongoing interaction with the environment.
Within this context, “together” refers both to co-presence and to a mode of practice. Through continuous discussion, adjustment, and compromise, participants develop an understanding of each other’s work while negotiating temporary forms of balance across differences. The exhibition is therefore not structured by a fixed curatorial logic, but is constituted through the formation of relationships.
The collaboration between NOFORMULA and SUP is not simply a shift of venue, but an alignment of conditions. One operates through open systems and collective participation, loosening established divisions between artistic and curatorial roles; the other provides a context capable of supporting uncertainty and process-based development. Through this intersection, “together” becomes not only a conceptual proposition, but a structure that can be enacted and experienced.
Within this structure, art is understood not as a final outcome, but as an ongoing process that unfolds through relationships, while the exhibition becomes a temporary manifestation of this process.
