An Allegory Rooted In Thoughts

An Allegory Rooted In Thoughts is an exhibition that explores vulnerability through allegory, focusing on the interconnectedness of nature, life cycles, and human experiences. Highlighting themes of transience — ranging from the cyclical rhythms of the seasons to the delicate balance between beauty and despair — the exhibition invites viewers to reflect on their own roots, fragility, interconnectivity, and the often unseen forces that shape us.

During their three-month residency, Margarita and Danny will host workshops, talks, and events, engaging students, faculty, and the local community through lectures, creative sessions, and cultural dialogues. We are delighted to have the support of 1/2room Gallery, providing a platform to host this exhibition and further extend the artists' opportunities to engage further with Changhua’s vibrant arts community.

This exhibition will not only showcase the artists' explorations but will also be a highlight in the cultural exchange fostered by the residency. Through their art, Margarita and Danny aim to deepen international dialogue and creative development whilst at NCUE, and in return, they open themselves to experiences and opportunities that will enrich their respective creative practices.

In the exhibition, both artists have invited sound artist Amit Rai Sharma, who recently relocated to Changhua, to create site- specific collaborative dialogues between their artworks as well as present a soundscape within the space. Additionally, a screening event featuring Margarita’s stop-motion videos will take place on 8th May.

SUP are very honoured to join up with 1/2 Room to host an exhibition for the artists, allowing them to take their residency work beyond institutional settings and further connect with the local arts community in Changhua.

本次展覽以寓言的形式探討「脆弱性」，聚焦自然、生命週期與人類經驗之間的緊密連結。主題圍繞「無常」，從四季更迭的循環節奏到美與哀愁之間的微妙平衡，邀請觀者反思自身的根源、脆弱性、相互關聯性，以及那些往往不被看見卻深刻影響我們的力量。

在為期三個月的駐校期間 Margarita Frančeska Loze 與 Daniel Young，透過工作坊、講座與社區參與，和學生、師長及當地居民展開深入的創意實踐交流與文化對話。

本展不僅呈現藝術家們在駐校期間的創作探索，同時也是此計畫與彰化在地藝文社區交流的亮點之一。透過藝術創作，Margarita 與 Danny 不僅深化國際間的藝術連結，他們自身也將從在地生活與創作的經驗中獲得啟發與養分，豐富其個人藝術實踐。

展覽特別邀請聲音藝術家 Amit Rai Sharma 與兩位藝術家共同創作現地聲音裝置，呈現本次展覽特有的聲景創作。此外，5 月 8 日晚上6pm-8pm 將舉辦 Margarita 逐格動畫的放映活動，誠摯邀請您共襄盛舉。
