SUP 2025 UK Arts and Culture Exchange

UK x INDIA x TAIWAN

An immersive cross-cultural experience hosted in the UK, bringing together participants from the India and Taiwan residencies to connect, collaborate, and engage with the local arts scene.

Video documentation by Hao Ning Chang Aug 2025

Supported by SUP and our UK partners, the two-week programme in Manchester and London presents a touring exhibition of the work created on the residencies and offers participants first-hand insights, creative dialogue, and the opportunity to build lasting international connections.

Designed as a vehicle for meaningful engagement, the programme seeks to create space for wider international arts education discussions and creative exchanges. Led by local artists, activities include gallery and museum visits, artist studio tours, art institution visits, community arts engagement, and the creation of two exhibitions in collaboration with UK partners.

Something Useful Project

Something Useful Project (SUP), founded in 2011, is a UK-based NGO dedicated to creating unique 3–6

month international residency opportunities for UK artists.

Each residency is designed to support the development of the artist’s professional practice while

offering meaningful opportunities to engage with local art students, tutors, and fellow creatives—

immersing themselves in the cultural and artistic landscapes of the host country.

In 2024, SUP established a local team in Taiwan. With extensive cross-disciplinary experience across

the UK’s art, culture, and education sectors, the SUP Taiwan team brings a forward-thinking and

adaptable strategic approach tailored to Taiwan’s unique context.
