SUP (Something Useful Project) is an artist-led initiative founded in London, dedicated to artistic practice, education, and international exchange.
SUA - Something Useful Association (Taiwan) takes SUP’s work and further translates into local engagement in Taiwan — fostering collaboration, knowledge sharing, and sustainable cultural development.
SUP(Something Useful Project)
SUP(創作)
SUA(轉譯)
SUP & SUA Taiwan
SUP (Something Useful Project) delivers international residencies and artistic exchanges between UK & India & Taiwan.
SUA – Something Useful Association (Taiwan) serves as an independent social impact arm in Taiwan, building a platform that connects artists and organisations, and enables ongoing collaboration within local contexts.
Together, they form a connected system:
SUP creates — developing artistic practice, international networks, and creative ecosystems
SUA translates — transforming these into local engagement, education, and social impact
SUA – Something Useful Association (Taiwan)
此一方法源自 SUP(Something Useful Project)所發展的藝術實踐框架,並由 SUA 在台灣進行轉譯與在地化實踐。
Why We Exist
Art is not only a form of expression, but a way of engaging with society, building connections, and generating meaningful impact.
SUA – Something Useful Association (Taiwan) works in Taiwan to translate artistic practice into a cultural method that can be understood, participated in, and shared. Through locally grounded work across education, community, and public contexts, we extend artistic experiences beyond the boundaries of the art field.
This approach is informed by the artistic framework developed by SUP (Something Useful Project), and is translated into situated practices through SUA’s work in Taiwan.
We are interested not only in artistic outcomes, but in how art is activated within different contexts — how it is responded to, and how it can continue to evolve into meaningful and sustained cultural action.
SUA – Something Useful Association (Taiwan)
SUA Cultural Ecosystem
SUA – Something Useful Association (Taiwan) develops and activates a continuously evolving cultural ecosystem in Taiwan, connecting artistic practice, learning and sharing, exhibitions and residencies, international exchange, and community engagement.
This ecosystem operates as an ongoing cycle:
Artistic Practice → Learning & Sharing → Exhibitions & Residencies → International Exchange → Community Engagement
Within Taiwan, SUA works to make this cycle active and accessible — enabling hands-on artistic experiences to be shared, exchanged, and extended across different cultural and social contexts.
The concept and overall structure of this ecosystem originate from the international framework developed by SUP (Something Useful Project), and are translated into local practice through SUA’s work in education and socially engaged initiatives.
As the first locally established association connected to SUP’s international network, SUA enables this ecosystem to take form in Taiwan — gradually building connections between artists, educators, students, communities, and industry partners.
Through this process, art is not only presented as an outcome, but understood as an evolving practice — one that can be participated in, shared, and developed into meaningful social impact.

Our Core Pillars
Artistic Translation
Placing artists at the centre, we translate creative processes and experiences into forms that can be understood, participated in, and extended — enabling art to enter education and wider social contexts as an active mode of practice.
Education & Participation
Through collaborations with universities, institutions, and cross-disciplinary partners, we create opportunities for students and young people to actively engage in artistic processes, fostering creative thinking and cultural understanding beyond passive learning.
Community Engagement
We support art in taking on a meaningful role within communities, facilitating connections between artists, local organisations, and diverse sectors, and building relationships that are both purposeful and sustainable.
International Translation
We connect international artistic resources and translate them into forms that resonate with local cultural and educational contexts, ensuring that cross-cultural exchange leads to tangible and lasting impact in Taiwan.

This approach is informed by the artistic framework developed by SUP (Something Useful Project), and is carried forward through SUA’s locally grounded work.
We are interested not only in the production of art, but in how art is activated within education, public engagement, and wider social contexts — forming an open, connected, and continuously evolving cultural ecosystem.
